My Father, My Best Friend

It has been a year now since my father Ralph has left me, his death has not been an easy road for me to deal with, and the memories of him seem more alive now, than they have ever felt like before.  He was my Dad, my hero, my mentor but most
of all he was My Best Friend.

So Dad I sit here and I write this letter to you:

Daddy thank you for always showing me right from wrong, allowing me to make my own mistakes growing up and then not judging me when I made them, but teaching me so I would'nt make them again.

Seeing you through the years as a young impressionable man always being the rock and the leader of our family has instilled the qualities that I now possess as an adult, with my own family.  For that I thank you.

Even when you became sick Pop you always gave me reassurance that everything was going to be o.k.
So many times I wish I could tell you how proud I was to be your son.  Even though I know you knew it.  When you passed Dad part of me died as well, I am left with the memories of a great man, the stories of a wonderful father and husband.
I try not to get sad, I know that is not what you would have wanted, so I lay my head down at night, and I pray to you Pop,
My Guardian Angel, and Always My Best Friend.

Until we see each other again Dad... I Love and Miss You.

Your Son,
John
